      上颌骨宽度发育不足是错合畸形的常见问题,常常会影响下颌骨的矢状向位置。上颌快速扩弓(Rapid palatal expansion, RPE)是正畸临床中常用的治疗手段。上颌骨邻近的组织结构十分复杂,快速扩弓的矫治力通过牙以及腭部施加到周围骨组织,并传导分散至全部上颌骨和它边缘组织。腭中缝骨性扩弓量随年龄增长而减少。由于青春期后的患者腭中缝骨化程度增高,牙性扩弓代偿使上颌骨缝扩弓效果存在不确定性,因此,临床治疗中亟需一种切实可行的腭中缝骨化程度的预测方法,指导上颌骨缝扩弓策略。本文就评估青春期前后上颌骨缝快速扩弓不同方法的研究进展做一综述。

      Underdevelopment of the maxillary width is a common problem of malocclusion, which often affects the sagittal position of the mandible.Rapid palatal expansion is a common treatment in clinical practice. The tissue structure adjacent to the maxilla is very complicated, and the corrective force of rapid expansion is applied to the surrounding bone and soft tissues through the teeth and palate, and is transmitted and dispersed to all maxilla and its marginal tissues. The biomechanical principles involved are also very complicated. The amount of palatal fissure expansion decreases with age. After puberty, the degree of ossification of the palatal suture varies in different patients, which makes the effect of rapid arch expansion uncertain. In clinical treatment, a practical method for predicting the degree of palatal suture ossification is urgently needed to guide the choice of maxillary expansion strategy. This article reviews the research progress of different methods for evaluating the rapid expansion of the maxillary suture before and after puberty.
