      Objective To study evaluation of lymph node metastasis in elderly patients with colorectal cancer by SLN recognition with nanoparticles. Methods 74 colorectal cancer patients were randomly divided into control group and observation group, 37 cases in each group. The control group used traditional palpation method to find lymph nodes, and the observation group used nano carbon tracer to assist imaging. The results of lymph node dissection, SLN detection rate, operation condition and postoperative complications were observed. Results Total number of lymph nodes and number of micro lymph nodes of observation group were higher than those in control group (P<0.05), the detection rate of < 12 lymph nodes in observation group was lower than that in control group (P<0.05), and lymph node metastasis rate twas no significant difference (P>0.05). The success rate of SLN detection was 100%. 91 SLNs were detected in observation group, with an average of (2.46±0.73) nodes. Among 8 patients with metastasis, 7 cases showed SLN metastasis, and 1 case had no SLN metastasis (the false negative rate was 12.5%). The operation time and intraoperative blood loss of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of complications during exhaust time and hospitalization time in two group (P>0.05).The PFS and OS of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion SLN recognition of nanoparticles can be used to evaluate the status of abdominal lymph nodes in elderly patients with colorectal cancer. The operation is simple, accurate and safe. It can guide the treatment and is worthy of popularization and application.
