| [Objective] To introduce Professor Cai Wanru's clinical experience in treating Post-COVID-19 Cough. [Methods] Through reviewing the literature and collating medical cases, Professor Cai's clinical experience was introduced from three aspects: etiology and pathogenesis, treatment principles and methods, and case examples. [Results] Professor Cai believed that the etiology of Post-COVID-19 Cough was due to deficiency of positive qi, uncleared remnants of epidemics, and loss of lung ventilation and descent. The residual evils are mostly wind and dampness, therefore, the treatment should be based on dispersing wind, dispelling dampness and resolving phlegm, and tonifying the lungs and strengthening the spleen should be carried out throughout the disease. And cited a typical medical case, cough because of the ambient wind trigger, treatment to dredge the wind to promote the lung, tonifying the lung and spleen, clearing heat and eliminating dampness. [Conclusion] Professor Cai Wanru has accumulated a wealth of experience in the theoretical research and diagnostic practice of treating pulmonary diseases for more than 40 years, and his experience in treating Post-COVID-19 Cough is worth passing on and promoting. |
