| 【】 Objective: To explore the effects of Xiaoyu Xiezhuo decoction in treatment of non-dialysis patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) of stage 3-5, and to inveterate its impact on fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23)/Klotho axis and calcium-phosphorus metabolism. Method: From June 2022 to September 2024, 88 cases of non-dialysis patients with CKD of stage 3-5 in hospitals were selected and divided into groups using random number table method: 44 cases in the control group, they were treated with Western medicine, another 44 cases in the experimental group, on the basis of the control group, they have added Xiaoyu Xiezhuo decoction treatment, the treatment course was 8 weeks. The traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores were evaluated before treatment and 8 weeks after treatment, and the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome was compared. The renal function indicators, 24-hour urine protein quantification (24h UTP), serum FGF23, Klotho protein, parathyroid hormone (PTH), serum calcium and phosphorus levels were detected. Results After treatment, the main and secondary symptom scores and total scores of traditional Chinese medicine in both groups decreased significantly (P<0.05), meanwhile, the experimental group received more score reduction than control group (P<0.05). The serum creatinine (Scr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and 24-hour UTP of both groups showed significant decrease after treatment, while glomerular filtration rate (GFR) increased significantly (P<0.05),however, the experimental group showed better improvement of above indicators (P<0.05, compared with control group). The serum FGF23, PTH, and blood phosphorus levels in both groups decreased significantly after appropriate treatment, while Klotho protein and serum calcium levels increased significantly (P<0.05) , meanwhile, the experimental group showed significantly better improvement of these indicators (P<0.05). Conclusion: Xiaoyu Xiezhuo decoction is safe and effective in the treatment of stage 3-5 CKD, which can improve clinical symptoms, regulate FGF23/Klotho axis and calcium phosphorus metabolism disorders, and can protect the renal function of patients. |
