| Objective: Applying data mining techniques to analyze Professor Fan Yongsheng's medication patterns and academic philosophy in the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis (AS). Methods: Collect the medical records of AS patients who met the criteria for dispensing in the outpatient department of Fan from January 2020 to June 2023, and a database was established. SPSS software was used to perform data mining on patient gender, age, TCM syndrome types, as well as the frequency of herb use, efficacy-based classification, clustering, and complex network analysis. Results: A total of 108 patients were included, comprising 66 males and 42 females, with a mean age of 40.5 ± 13.64 years. A total of 144 Chinese herbal medicines appeared, including 31 high-frequency medicines, with deficiency-reinforcing medicines, wind dampness-removing medicines, urination-promoting and dampness-draining medicines, and exterior-releasing medicines. Kidney deficiency with du meridian cold, damp heat obstruction, liver-kidney deficiency pattern were treated with " kidney-tonifying, collaterals-unblocking, and impediment-eliminating formula " combined with Astragalus and Cinnamon Twig Five Ingredients Decoction, Modified White Atractylodes and Aconite Decoction, Mysterious Four Powder, Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill and Peony and Licorice Decoction respectively. Conclusion: Kidney-tonifying and collaterals-unblocking is the basic treatment principle of AS, and the combination of strengthening and dispelling evil is adopted. "kidney-tonifying, collaterals-unblocking, and impediment-eliminating formula" is the basic prescription. Fan pays attention to observe the pathogenesis of disease in clinical diagnosis, makes precise differentiation of syndrome, combines Classic prescription and Non-classical Prescriptions, and uses refined medicine, which reflects his clinical thinking of TCM in syndrome differentiation and treatment and flexibility. |
